Guy is the Dean for the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine. Guy first became involved in developing the School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and this makes him one of the original trailblazers in establishing the School of Veterinary Medicine.
He grew up in rural Australia and was introduced to the veterinary profession while working with his veterinarian father on the family livestock operation. After completing his veterinary degree, he traveled to the US for advanced training. Since then he has worked with West Texas A&M University from 2002 to 2010, and Texas Tech from 2010 onward.
Guy’s research focus is on aspects of epidemiology, veterinarian’s role in public health, and One Health – the concept that animal, human and ecosystem health are interconnected.
Guy has served on numerous regional, national, and international committees. He is a proud member of many organizations including the Texas Cattle Feeders Association and Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
