Individual College Information

Each veterinary college and school offers different curricula, opportunities, and programs. Contact each veterinary medical college in which you are interested and request a packet of information. This will provide an overview of what the school has to offer and how well it suits your goals. A listing of the veterinary colleges and schools in the United States and Canada is available through the AAVMC website.

Prospective veterinary students with a veterinary college in their home state are strongly encouraged to develop a relationship with that particular school. Most state-supported veterinary colleges give significant preference to state residents. Although nonresidents apply and are accepted to veterinary colleges, there is often great competition for these slots.
