Dotty Gray Bio

Dorothy (Dotty) Gray

Chief Operating Office Dorothy (Dotty) Gray joined the AAVMC in 2012. Prior to coming to the AAVMC, she managed the day-to-day operations at AVMA’s Washington, DC office for 17 years. Dotty received a bachelor’s degree from Bennett College for Women, in Greensboro, N.C. After graduating from Bennett, Dotty worked as a staff assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives, and later joined a public relations and crisis management firm before turning her attention to the nonprofit sector.

Dotty earned an MBA degree from the University of Maryland University College. Her knowledge and experience in politics, public relations, and association and business management have prepared her well for her current position as AAVMC’s Chief Operating Officer.

Dotty studied music at the college level and now feeds her inner diva by singing in gospel, jazz and R&B. She has written and produced several gospel stage plays and hopes to share them on a large scale someday.
